Traceability, Sustainability, and Transparency throughout the entire fashion system supply chain.
Launched in 2011, Greenpeace’s Detox campaign aims to make the fashion supply chain sustainable by eliminating the most hazardous chemicals.
Following investigations in China—where many brands source their materials—the environmental impact of industrial wastewater discharges was revealed.
This led to a concrete commitment to transparency, traceability, and responsibility throughout the entire production chain
Consorzio Italiano Detox (CID) was established in 2016, bringing together textile companies committed to eliminating toxic substances from the fashion supply chain, in response to Greenpeace’s challenge. As the first example of its kind worldwide, CID promotes sustainability through analysis and collaboration. The joint work between companies and research partners facilitates the adoption of the Detox Protocol, proving that eco-sustainable fashion is indeed possible.
CID continues to innovate to protect health and the environment, supporting a production model that is already concrete and achievable today.
